Size
UVA (long rays) penetrate the skin more deeply than UVB (short rays). Radiation triggers free-radical and oxidation
damage. It also causes collagen to break down (cross-linking) so that skin wrinkles, weakens elastin so that it sags,
and brings about unsightly hyperpigmentation. Both UVA and UVB rays in excess are detrimental to the skin
causing photo-ageing. The rays damage the membranes within the skin’s cells, called lysosomes, which contain
hydrolytic enzymes. The skin’s ability to hold moisture in its outer layer is cumulative and irreversible from
excessive exposure which can lead to cancer and severe photo-damage. Melanin formation is entirely dependent
on UVR exposure.

How to use

"Apply generously to sun exposed areas, including face, ears
and back of neck, before sun exposure. Use of Ferulic + C + E
prior to application doubles anti-oxidant protection against UV
damage. Re-apply frequently, especially after perspiring,
swimming or towel drying. Protect this product from excessive
heat and direct sunlight. Under make-up application, excess
product application will result in a temporary white residue lasting
+- 20 minutes. Roll-Patting motions recommended rather than
spreading as rubbing decreases efficacy.

contains fewer sunscreen ingredients than other sunscreen
products. DermaShield SPF40 - Zinc Oxide Broad Spectrum
UVA/UVB HEV Light Protection Sunscreen is also
non-acnegenic"
